What is leadership coaching?
The International Coach Federation (ICF), which Steve is a member of, defines coaching as ‘partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximise their personal and professional potential, which is particularly important in today’s uncertain and complex environment’.
Transformational Leadership Coaching is a customised process, conducted one-on-one for a defined period of time with specific business outcomes in mind. It is a collaborative and confidential relationship between you, as the leader and your coach. As the leader, you could be an executive, manager, team leader or business owner – in your role, you are responsible for a group of people and you contribute to the future success of the business or organisation.
Why do I need a leadership coach?
The aim of leadership coaching is to bring about sustained behavioural change and improve the quality and success of your working and personal life, as well as achieve specific business outcomes. The leadership coaching that Steve offers is both transformational and holistic, as it focuses on both your inner and outer game.

As a leadership coach, Steve creates an environment of safety and trust, where you feel comfortable and motivated to explore the many facets your role, your business and yourself, as well as preparing you for future roles.
Effective leadership begins with self-leadership. Steve will help you to identify and focus on what is important for you, which will accelerate the process of you achieving the results you want for yourself and your organisation or business. As your coach, he may also challenge your beliefs about what you, your business and your team can accomplish.
Steve is committed to coaching leaders to develop a style of ethical, client-focused, consultative and inspirational leadership, which acknowledges the need for leaders and their teams to become exceptional performers, communicators and designers of new possibilities.
Leadership/executive coaching has a positive impact on an organisation’s financial performance. According to an International Coaching Federation (ICF) study, 60% of respondents from organisations with strong coaching cultures reported their revenue to be above average, compared to their peer group. Successful companies understand that coaching can facilitate their staff to increase their performance at work, so they invest in coaching for their leaders and high potentials.

As well as deep skills in coaching on interpersonal issues, Steve brings an outstanding set of frameworks with which he illuminates people’s perceptions and behaviours. These have changed the way that I understand the world around me and through that, my ability to coach and lead my colleagues. It has also helped me make tough decisions much more easily and with more integrity and insight than previously.Simon Smith, Managing Director, eBay Australasia
Recently, I was presented with the following awards:
‘Retail Business Partner of the Year’ and ‘Overall Business Partner of the Year ’
As you are aware, when I took on my current assignment, it presented many leadership, operational and personal challenges. I want to thank you, as my coach, for your significant contribution to my success. You provided valuable insights in many areas, which enabled me to review my leadership approach. I really appreciated your forthrightness, candour and patience. Thank you, Steve, for your support, advice and contribution.Rakesh Sinha, Finance Director, Unilever
Steve brings a very finely calibrated set of skills to his coaching work. He respects the intelligence of those he works with, but pushes and nudges, quietly assisting you to open up about the things that are hard, that you find confronting and that sometimes you’d rather avoid or gloss over. His capacity to draw out and challenge your assumptions and to do so in ways that help you to rethink how you conventionally understand and approach particular situations is key to how he facilitates growth and change. It has made me far more able to face up to the challenges, to acknowledge my own role or investment in situations, and to think more empathetically about how I work with others. It’s been incredibly valuable.Professor Maryanne Dever, Associate Dean, FASS (Teaching and Learning), UTS
As a result of Steve’s leadership coaching, I am far clearer of what is involved in being a leader, as distinct from being a manager. The emphasis placed on leading oneself in addition to leading teams and individuals has helped me focus on what is truly important in life from both a work and personal perspective.Craig Francis, Southern Region Manager, SAP Australia
Coaching session can take place face-to-face or via video/skype or a combination of both.
